We patched a couple foundation issues. We fixed the flooding problems. Yet, these were problems that just scratched the surface of what would eventually have us afraid to live in our own home.

In the fall of 2023, our friend delivered the blow as nicely as possible. “Your house is sinking and it will cost hundreds of thousands to stabilize the foundation. You might as well try to rebuild elsewhere on the property or move.” Yikes.
That spring brought the loss of a job/steady income and the loss of our church home. That summer brought incredibly stressful situations with my Mom who lived on our property. Finances and my Mom’s mental health lead us to ask her to leave. Things were very wrong and she wouldn’t let us help her. Then we find out about our house.
And yet God. . . God gave us friends that offered Guy a job. Our flower business was slow, but already doubled what we had accomplished the year before. God kept my Mom from making a reckless trip. He provided a place for her to move. He brought us through that situation and walked with us as we grieved and sorted through the entire house full of stuff that she left behind. God kept bringing people to us and we started a small group. God continued to show Himself in His righteousness.
Isaiah 5:15-16 ESV
[15] Man is humbled, and each one is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are brought low. [16] But the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness.
